Supporting WarPaws Through Their Toughest Battles
At Power of One, we understand that behind every rescue story are moments of heartbreak that the world rarely sees. We want to share the reality WarPaws is facing. A reality that highlights just how vital ongoing support is for organisations fighting on the front lines of animal welfare.

A Heartbreaking Loss
Despite tireless efforts to vaccinate and protect as many dogs as possible against deadly diseases like parvovirus, distemper, and rabies, there are times when even the strongest defences aren’t enough.
In recent weeks, WarPaws suffered the devastating loss of 12 beautiful dogs to distemper. It’s a loss that shakes everyone involved to their core because behind each vaccination, each treatment, and each rescue is hope.
And when that hope is lost, the heartbreak is immeasurable.

The Unseen Battle Against Disease
No matter how dedicated the team at WarPaws is, the harsh reality remains:
Disease in the external environment is a constant threat.
Even with vaccination programmes, deep cleaning, and strict quarantine protocols, the risk never fully disappears. Each new arrival brings new hope but also new risks that must be managed with vigilance, care, and resources.
WarPaws continues to fight every single day to:
- Vaccinate every new dog
- Deep clean their facilities
- Take additional biosecurity precautions to prevent the spread of infection
But right now, they are facing a critical shortage of essential supplies like plastic aprons, disposable coveralls, and examination gloves, the basic tools that help them protect the animals they work so hard to save.
How You Can Help
In times like this, even the most extraordinary efforts need a little extra support.
If you can, please consider donating to help WarPaws replenish their supplies and continue their vital work:
