Safe Haven for Donkeys: Hope Amid Destruction

Safe Haven for Donkeys: Hope Amid Destruction

The Role of Donkeys in Gaza

In Gaza, donkeys are more than animals. They are lifelines. They carry food, water, people, and even patients when vehicles cannot pass. For countless families, their survival depends on these animals.

Destruction and Determination

Earlier this year, an airstrike destroyed the small shelter and supplies of Safe Haven for Donkeys. For many, that might have been the end. For Dr. Saif Alden and his team, it was only the beginning.

With nothing more than salvaged materials and determination, they rebuilt a mobile clinic and pressed on. In the middle of conflict, they treated the injured and exhausted animals that others could not reach.

Lives Saved Against the Odds

To date, Safe Haven for Donkeys has cared for more than 7,000 animals. Each one is vital to the survival of the families who depend on them. Each one is proof of what compassion looks like when tested in the harshest conditions.

The Reality of Animal Welfare in Conflict
