Meet Tulay Ercevik Unlu

A Guardian Angel for Turkey’s Stray Animals

Tulay Ercevik Unlu, the founder of Tulay’s Safe Haven For Paws, is a remarkable soul dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in Turkey. Her journey of compassion and rescue began 13 years ago when she saved her first street dog, who is still happily living with her today at 17 years old.

A Life of Dedication

Nine years ago, Tulay made the courageous decision to leave her job as an air stewardess to care for a pregnant dog who refused to feed her puppies. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her tireless efforts to rescue countless dogs and cats from neglect and cruelty. Six years ago, she moved to a village near her father-in-law’s land, where she built a safe haven for animals in need.

Power of One’s Support

Last year, Power of One provided £2,420 to help four dogs receive crucial surgeries, allowing them to live happy and healthy lives. Recently, Tulay reached out with an urgent request for more shelters due to the increasing number of rescues. She desperately needed 40 extra kennels to ensure each dog had a safe haven from the weather. We are proud to share that Power of One stepped in and provided the 40 kennels Tulay needed.

A Heartfelt Gesture

In a heartfelt gesture, Tulay painted each kennel as a dedication to Power of One. This act of gratitude highlights the deep bond between our supporters and the incredible work being done by Tulay and her team.
