Empowering Communities: Ensuring No Pet Goes Hungry!
Theme: #LittleByLittle
Last month, we introduced you to the remarkable Emma Williams, founder of Full Tummies—a Community Interest Company dedicated to ensuring no pet goes hungry during these challenging times.
Emma’s dedication to animal welfare led her to acquire a staggering £100k worth of dog and cat food. Recognizing the urgent need to distribute this food to those in need, Emma reached out to us at Power of One for assistance.
Without hesitation, we jumped at the opportunity to help.
Why did we get involved?
The answer lies in the heart of a pressing issue facing our community. As Dominic Dyer, an Ambassador for the Power of One, shared with us, the UK is currently grappling with rising prices, making it increasingly difficult for people to afford pet food.
It’s a real and urgent problem—one that demands our attention and action.
In collaboration with Emma, we coordinated the logistics and arranged for the food to be stored in a free facility in Fleet, Hampshire. To ensure the food reached those who needed it most, Power of One covered the costs of a forklift truck to facilitate the movement of pallets into the storage area.
With everything in place, Emma, with the support of Power of One, reached out to shelters and food banks, inviting them to collect the much-needed supplies.
We’re immensely grateful to the incredible organizations that answered our call, including Last Chance Animal Rescue, Feeding Fido, Pupcakes Rescue, Helping Cats and Dogs UK Rescue, Lucky’s Legacy Rescue, Love Underdogs, Rushton Dog Rescue, and Scratching Post UK.
But our work is far from over. We need your continued support to ensure that no pet goes hungry in the face of adversity.
