Strays Without Borders, an animal rescue organization in North Macedonia, is dedicated to rescuing animals in dire conditions and improving animal welfare. In a country struggling with institutional challenges and poverty, they face immense obstacles.
Their solution is spaying and neutering to control the stray animal population, and they need your support. Our aim is to raise £10,000 for a spay-neuter campaign targeting 150 dogs.
Your generous donation, no matter the size, can make a significant difference in these animals’ lives.
Who Are Strays Without Borders?
Strays Without Borders is an animal rescue organization founded by Snezana and Milka, based in Skopje, North Macedonia. Their mission is as simple as it is profound: to change the lives of desperate animals found malnourished, covered in parasites, and suffering from severe injuries.
With a small team of dedicated UK volunteers, they are not only rescuing and rehabilitating animals but are also committed to improving animal welfare in North Macedonia and finding loving homes for dogs rescued from the streets.
The Challenges They Face
In North Macedonia, the institutional labyrinth prevents laws and institutional responsibilities associated with animal welfare from being fulfilled, resulting in an uncontrolled population of stray animals. While the rescues and volunteers are the only active entities striving to make a difference, they are facing immense challenges. They are drained, stuck in debts, and desperate.
The Harsh Reality
North Macedonia is the 3rd poorest country in the Balkans and the 6th poorest in Europe. This economic hardship makes it nearly impossible for the people there to afford pets or spaying, leading to more strays and uncontrolled breeding.

The Solution
The only viable solution to help the rescues and animals in this country is through spaying. Strays Without Borders has already successfully organized spaying campaigns, and through their experience, they’ve learned that people are willing to bring animals for spaying, including their pets and local strays, if it’s provided for free.
A Call for Your Generosity
Now, they are looking for your help to fundraise for a bigger spay-neuter campaign, targeting 150 dogs and costing €10,000. They’ve collaborated with trusted vet networks and reached out to local communities, encouraging them to come to vets and get their dogs spayed and neutered for free. Vets have even gone out to capture certain dogs and provide this essential service.
Your Support Matters
To support this campaign and be a part of a life-changing mission, we urge you to donate generously. Every contribution, no matter the size, can go a long way in making a significant difference in these animals’ lives.
