Thanks to You, Another £450 for WarPaws!
We are proud to share that, thanks to your incredible support, we have been able to donate a further £450 to WarPaws in Iraq.
This donation forms part of our continued commitment to stand alongside organisations who face unimaginable challenges every single day in their mission to protect and care for animals in need.
Why WarPaws Needs Us Now More Than Ever
If you’ve followed our previous updates about WarPaws, you’ll know they are not just a shelter, they are a lifeline for over 700 dogs who have been abandoned, abused, or caught in the chaos of conflict.
Their work is tireless and heartfelt, but the obstacles they face are growing:
- Severe financial pressures make it harder to provide essential food, medical supplies, and shelter maintenance.
- Rehoming rates have declined, meaning more dogs remain in their care long-term, adding to the financial and emotional strain.
- Outbreaks of disease, such as distemper, have caused heart-wrenching losses despite rigorous vaccination and deep cleaning efforts.
We recently shared the devastating news that WarPaws lost 12 dogs to distemper, despite doing everything possible to prevent the spread. It’s a sobering reminder of how fragile rescue work can be, and how crucial it is that we continue to support them.
How Your Support Helps
Every penny raised makes a real and tangible difference to the lives of these animals.
Our latest donation will help WarPaws to:
- Replenish vital medical and protective supplies (such as exam gloves, aprons, and coveralls).
- Support ongoing vaccination efforts to protect against preventable diseases.
- Provide food, shelter, and emergency care for the hundreds of dogs who rely on them daily.
- Maintain and improve the rescue centre facilities, ensuring a safer environment for every dog in their care.
