War Paws have shared that Oriana is stepping down from her role as country director after four years of leading the shelter in Iraq. Many of you will recognise her from the updates we have posted over the years. Her presence has been central to so many of the stories we have shared.

The Work That Cannot Be Measured

Oriana has been there during the late nights when a dog needed emergency care. She has been the calm voice during moments of chaos when the team were overwhelmed. She has spent time sitting quietly with the most nervous dogs until they felt safe enough to breathe again. These moments do not appear in any statistic, but they explain why so many animals survived and why so many volunteers found the strength to keep going.

A Lasting Contribution

Her impact has been immense. Her compassion has been steady even on the hardest days. Her leadership has shaped the shelter and has also shaped how many people now understand the reality of rescue work in Iraq. She has carried responsibilities that few people will ever see and has done so with commitment and care.

Our Thanks

From all of us at Power of One, we want to thank Oriana for everything she has given and everything she has held together. Her work has made a real difference and she has our complete respect and gratitude.

Thank you Oriana.
