Supporting Grassroots with Old Southendians U12s
We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with the Old Southendians Under 12 Blacks, a brand-new grassroots football team kicking off their very first season in the Southend & District Junior Sunday League.
Old Southendians is a long-standing community club built on the same values that drive everything we do at Power of One teamwork, respect, and commitment.
Why Grassroots Football?
At first glance, football and animal welfare might seem worlds apart. But the connection is simple: both are about teaching care, empathy, and responsibility.
Every time a young player helps a teammate up, shows respect to an opponent, or gives their all for the team, they’re learning values that reach far beyond the pitch. Those same values, kindness, compassion, and teamwork are what shape the people who go on to make the world better for others, whether human or animal.
At Power of One, we believe real change begins with people who care. Supporting grassroots football means investing in the next generation of leaders, helpers, and changemakers, young people who’ll grow up understanding that every action, every voice, and every choice matters.
Building a Culture of Care
Just as rescue work starts with empathy, so does teamwork. When children learn to care for their teammates, the lessons naturally extend to caring for their communities and the world around them.
By backing the Old Southendians U12 Blacks, we’re helping to nurture those values early because care isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we live, play, and pass on.
Here’s to Their First Season
We can’t wait to see this young team grow in confidence, connection, and pride as they take on their first season. Here’s to progress, teamwork, and plenty of goals, both on and off the pitch.
