Meet Lucky: Changing Lives at TOLFA!

We have an exciting update on our campaign for TOLFA! Thanks to your incredible generosity, Power of One was able to donate £2000 towards our £5000 target.

And guess what?

This contribution has been put to use in bringing onboard Lucky—the newest member of the nurturing team at TOLFA!

Don’t let his youthful appearance fool you—Lucky is actually sixteen years old, and this isn’t his first job. He’s the loudest, most energetic member of staff—or possibly human—we’ve ever met!

Lucky lives with his family in the local city of Ajmer, sixteen kilometers away. Without any transport of his own, Lucky stands outside his home and waits for other local staff members to pass by so he can flag them down for a lift to work!

Like many children in rural India, Lucky only went to school until 3rd class, at seven years old. A naturally bright and self-starting young man, Lucky didn’t suit the confines of classroom life and wanted to get out into the real world. Before coming to TOLFA, he worked in a hotel. His uncle Jacky, also a nurturer at TOLFA, suggested Lucky would thrive at TOLFA, with its strong work ethic, supportive atmosphere, and positive role models.

In his short time at TOLFA, Lucky has shown a natural aptitude for his work. He says he doesn’t want to take any days off as he enjoys the work so much and feels like he is doing something good.

As the newest member of the nurturing team, TOLFA will be providing ongoing training for Lucky to reach his full potential. He has an innate love of animals and naturally seems to put them at ease, so we know he will become a valuable member of the nurturing team.
