Samantha Hutchinson, a London-based City lawyer with over two decades of experience in finance, founded Power of One just over a year ago. Sam had been personally financially supporting many of these women prior to founding Power of One, focussing on projects which made life-changing differences to these small teams including transport and infrastructure investment.
With Sam’s background as a finance lawyer in the City, and years of working individually with these teams, Sam saw a huge need for, and fundamental gap in, funding and resources for these women.
Sam formed Power of One as a non-profit organisation and aims to bring these women and their causes to a wider audience by developing campaigns for projects and investment, working with ambassadors who embody the principles and values of Power of One to raise their profile and constructing targeted fund-raising and support in a way that works in partnership with the women and teams to bring awareness, education and funding.
By joining forces and sharing business experience, Power of One’s aim is to develop a network through which women can access funding, business skills and emotional support.
